High school students plan to create software to track goods in Trump's red states

I am a 12th grade student from Ontario. Due to Trump's tariff war threat, I plan to work with my computer class friends to design and develop a software that can track the source of imported products. This software can identify goods from the United States or other countries. After identification, it will score the product based on whether the company owner is a fanatical MAGA fan, whether it is a red state, and the equity structure, to help Canadian consumers choose the corresponding Canadian replacement products.

I plan to find some friends who are interested in business to complete the manufacturer analysis, and friends in art class to do Ul design. But before the project started, since I had no experience in software development, I wanted to ask some questions from experienced professionals. How much do we need to spend to choose a server? Are there any potential costs that I haven't considered but are critical? Is there any way to cover the overall development costs through advertising or other non-commercial profit methods?

Much obliged.
