Do many expats speak 2-3 languages?

Hi, I’m a native English speaker and C1 in French, and starting beginner German (standard resources for the moment so no Swiss German at this stage). Im aiming for C1 German in about five years which should help my European career.

I may consider working in Switzerland in a few years once I gain a few more years of experience and have the language skills. I’m wondering, do many expats arrive in Switzerland with language skills on their CV? Are three languages necessary, or just a bonus in business and daily life? Thanks!
