High functioning bp'ers of society: how do you do it?

Calling all medical professionals, lawyers, engineers, fellow scientists, and anyone else who would consider themselves as "high functioning" members of society.

How are y'all getting by when you hit a wall? Professionally speaking. I'm mostly looking for advice on stress management, and possibly crisis management.

I have not fully identified what's going on with me at the moment and I have a decent wait to get into a new psychiatrist. I'm underperforming at work right now. Which isn't good. A lot of research being conducted at my place of work depends on my performance. They will notice, and I could lose my job. Luckily bad results happen from time to time and I can use that excuse for now. I wouldn't say I'm completely dropping the ball, but am doing so much more frequently.

I've also been progressing my education along side full time work. It's a lot of work but honestly for me it's a breeze 99% of the time. My theory is I'm struggling right now due to the additional work load on top of mental health. I feel like I'm slipping into some kind of crisis, but without thought of self harm. Whatever it is, I'm starting to hallucinate visualy several times a day. Only bugs and mice in the corners of my vision.

I've never been hospitalized before, but I'm considering it. I'd very likely fail out of school and lose my job if I did that. Unfortunately that's not an option.

Edit: I would like to thank everyone for their time and their incredible advice. Your contributions are an inspiration to others. I certainly have some work to do. Again, thank you all.

For anyone who looked at this and thought they weren't "high functioning." There's a lot of stigma standing between us. We're all struggling immensely. The proof here is that in under 24 hours we were able to get life advice from dozens of elite positions. We have successful artists, medical professionals, lawyers, engineers, and scientists of all varieties. We have administration, business owners, and corporate leaders. Graduate students, premeds, professors, and many more.

I want y'all to note that despite their ultra high performance job titles, most of them have flexible schedules. Being able to make my own hours changed my life.

They all recommend medication, regular therapy, and a rock solid sleep schedule. I will certainly be jumping on the regular therapy train.

What I'm getting at is that if you're nervous to pursue your dreams, don't be. There are five dozen people here who shot for the stars and made it. That can absolutely be you.
