The Spielberg series made me think of the Spielberg horror movies that never happened

Watching Duel and Jaws makes me wonder about the timeline where, before or after Raiders, Spielberg made another horror movie. To me it kinda feels like one of his genre eras that had promise but never happened,we got the pulp serial adventure trilogy with Indy but he left horror behind with Jaws.
