Ways to better preserve paper covers
I make books off and on but never get into the weeds about it, so I don’t know some things that may be basics to yall forgive me. I’ve only made cloth over chip/book board covers before, but have some real nice paper I’d like to use this time. Ik everything wears and tears esp if I’m not doing it proper, but is there anything I can add to help preserve/reinforce a paper cover?
For example i think I’ll run a strip of fabric on the backside of where the cover and spine would hinge so it isn’t just paper holding them two together. But could I cover the front in a fixative spray or glue to help it get less scratched up/torn/susceptible to rain? Are them corner covers worth adding on? Thanks for any advice :)
