Help with cake wallet issues 4 newb

I made a wallet followed all instructions and was periodically checking to see if it had went through and as of an hour and a half since deposit I have not been able to get into the wallet, and get the message "ERROR: exception: input stream error" . Any help would be very much appreciated.
