No hardwood after restart??

I’ve had the game since early access and I restarted my save with a new game plus back in November. I’m now at the point where I can upgrade to gold tools but I haven’t come across any hardwood. I have the upgrade that makes it more likely to show up but it hasn’t and I haven’t unlocked it at the carpenter cuz I’m still at E town rank.

Is there something I’m not doing right since the 1.0 changes??
