The One thing I'm not liking about this game

So, as everyone and their mother know, together with adaptability, Dark Souls 2 committed the blasphemy of taking 5% of you health for every death up to a max of 50%.

Ring of Binding being in the first to second zone means you effectively go around with -25% for the whole game while having 3 ring slots to play with. And when you become human because you feel confident, it takes 5 deaths to need to put on the ring of Binding again.

I'm sure they had all this feedback on how this thing was disliked and were like: "No, no. It's not that when you die and lose ember you lose 30% of you health, no. It's just that when you are Embered you have 30% EXTRA health. You like extra health, right?"
