Does distracted driving (phone use) enforcement exist anywhere in the world?
In US cities, it is now more common than not that a driver in city traffic is spending their time on their phone while driving.
I don't know of any city that actually does any sort of enforcement of this even though it is well known to lead to collisions.
All it would take is for an officer to be on a busy street during peak traffic, look at the drivers, and alert a 2nd officer to pull over each driver that is texting on their phone.
Edit: Based on the feedback, I'm glad to hear that enforcement is being done in places that have the adequate resources to do the enforcement. I've never seen this, but I live where police are already stretched too thin to enforce most traffic laws.
