What if...

What would you think if a Fromsoft game (or any other souls-like) would offer you a key item as a starting gift thet would be the only way to enter an area in the game?

For example the Peculiar Doll in DS1 or the Tonsil Stone in Bloodborne.

Let's say you missed that when creating a character. And then in the end-game you figure out that there is a locked door (or something) that you are missing an item for and there is no way to get it. After many hours of playing you figure out that you need to start a new character to discover all of the game.

Would that be too much?
