How do you all track competitors / similar games?
I feel like these lists of stats for various genres tends to be so wide-ranging that it's not super useful, so at some point I made my own spreadsheet where I tried to throw in all of the games that were most similar to my own:
The huge downside to this is that it means I literally had to go through something like ~1000 games on Steam and pick out the ones that seemed the most like mine in a totally subjective way. I definitely could automate more of this (most significantly, I assume it wouldn't be hard to scrape the review count), but ultimately it just felt like there was no combination of tags that would be super useful for getting at what I wanted to get at.
Anyway! I'm curious if any of you have found useful ways to get at similar info?
