What older game would you still recommend to play today? (no nostalgia edition)

These questions are almost always answered with games that the answerer played as a child, and as such their opinion is heavily influenced by nostalgia.

I wanna know what old games you played for the first time LONG after their original release which you found to still hold up.

My answer: the Half-Life games, which I didn't play until like 2019-2020, especially Half-Life 2 and it's episodes. I'd recommend Black Mesa over Half-Life, though, just for QoL and the visuals.
