Fernstudium vs Traditional Hochschule?

Hello everyone, I'm in interested in getting a bachelor degree in Ergotherapie (occupational therapy) in Germany. The question is: has anyone ever done an Ausbildung + Fernstudium? What's it like? Is a Fernstudium degree generally accepted? I'm trying to figure out if it's worth doing or if I should go to a traditional Hochschule to get a degree, especially as a foreign student.
