Has anyone considered/pursued a MS in Data Science from a GIS background?
Graduating soon with a GIS degree, though I am unsure if this is truly the path that I want to take. I've been seeing a lot of talk popping up on these forums regarding a few online MS in DS degrees from universities such as UT Austin and Georgia Tech, offering graduate degrees in DS for only $10k. Has anyone pursued a MSDS degree as a career realigner/shifter to move into a role less geography focused? I believe that data is what I'm passionate about, and I'm unsure how far just a GIS degree can take me.
