Player Safety & Suspension Discussion - What Needs to Change?
[Serious Discussion] Seeing a lot of dialogue resurface on the topic of player safety, suspension and of course reffing (or lack thereof) on a number of hockey related subreddits the last 48 hours.
Some people want the NHL to be more protective of key players like other sports. Others want the rules to be equally applied across all player regardless of status.
What do you want to see changed?
No system is perfect but there has to be some consistency applied IMHO. I don't want to see ANY player from any team be hurt.
But I also understand that the NHL is a business.
Finally - I know it's easy to slam the refs, but genuinely interested in anyone who has actually reffed higher level hockey also sharing their experiences, since it's impossible to see everything.
