Being the glue that holds my department together is exhausting

Back in September, I got a full-time job at a YMCA as a front desk person. I process memberships, audit files, give tours, and put in work orders. I genuinely enjoy this job because it's the perfect blend of admin and customer service.

Up until this week, my schedule has been fairly okay. One to two days off a week, decent hours, a pretty solid balance. When I saw this month's schedule, I was irate. I work sixteen days in a row, then one day off, and then seven days on again.

I've been holding this department together, processing incident reports, communicating with other departments, assisting members, and auditing hundreds of files daily. All for $13 an hour while my co-workers do the bare minimum.

Yesterday I lost my voice and I received multiple emails begging me to come in. I didn't see them because I was knocked out.

I'm already job hunting, but this bait-and-switch stuff that a lot of places do is exactly why there's such a high turnover rate for YMCA's and places like this.
