Why are CA knife laws so stupid?

Like I get it, knives in the wrong hands are super dangerous. But is carrying a OTF with a blade of more than 2 inches really that bad when a mf can walk out of his household with a fully exposed “Dirk or Dagger” as long it’s seen on his waist band? What makes a Balisong or OTF more dangerous than a cold steel voyager or a Kershaw strata? Like a 4” Michrotech is apparently a weapon of mass destruction. When a person can walk out of their house with a fully enclosed cold steel espada XL? i know this has probaly been said like 100 times before and I know there are Cali legal OTF knives and some balis too. I just find it annoying that I only need to drive maybe a day from south CA where I’m at rn right across from the Oregon state line and boom, both OTFS and balisongs are ok with some restrictions. Sorry if I sound a little annoying. Just really wanna edc balisong and I find it so annoying I can’t because some dude saw John Travolta play with them and got scared he was gonna go on a murder spree.(jk)
