Iridium vs. Incindie vs. Serene vs. Praxis? EDC
I'm looking for a new EDC knife. I love a drop point. It's easily by favorite blade shape.
I think I've narrowed down to 4 options.
Kershaw Iridium
Civivi Incindie
Sencut Serene
Civivi Praxis (Nitro-V)
In that order. The Kershaw seems the most compact with the slimmest and shortest handle while still maintaining a "full-size" 3.5" blade. Priced in the middle of the pack.
The Sencut uses the same D2 steel and also has an aluminum handle. But it's cheaper. I know a lot of people don't like button locks, but I hear Civivi/Sencut have the best button locks on the market. It has the longest handle out of the 3.5" knives. I like the flipper.
The Incindie has the thickest handle out of the 3.5" knives but uses a more corrosion resistant metal. The G10 handles will have a better grip than the aluminum handles found on the Iridium and Serene. Personally I do like a flipper. I don't know why so many people don't like them. I carried a Leek for like 11 years, so I'm used to it. No thumbstud though but I don't think it's necessary. If it had a different locking mechanism it would be more of a no brainer for me. I've heard a lot of stories of people cutting themselves with button lock knives. I'm not sure why.
The Praxis has a perfect blade shape imo. The Mini is too small, and the original uses a metal I don't care for much and the Nitro V models only come with aluminum handles. It's also the largest knife.
I think the most compelling are the Iridium and Incindie. At almost exactly the same price and the same blade length, it seems like a choice between compactness or a more stainless metal and g10 handles.
Any thoughts or suggestions? Are there any options I left out? Ideally I'd like something between these two. A 3.5" drop point blade, short and thin compact handle with micarta scales and not a button lock (unless I can be convinced that button locks aren't sketchy).
