My thoughts about RM's come back to me after watching the documentary

I recently went to watch RM's documentary in the theatre, and Namjoon mentioned "The Myth of Sisyphus" while talking about the song "Come Back to Me". After knowing about the back story it makes me enjoy the song more. The lyrics You are my pain and divine (i.e. Divine pain/ punishment) and "I will roll you to the moon" is the reference to Sisyphus.

If u don't know who that dude is he is a king who cheated death. God's being buzz kill they are sentenced him to roll a boulder up a hill for eternity.

When I heard this song, at first, I thought it was a love song. The guy is sad &depressed( from the lyric I forgot to shower) and just wants his love to come back. At one point in the documentary, RM even jokes that it might be a love song.

But I later realized what Joon wanted to say from this song is finding happiness or comfort in the same hard routine that sucks the soul out of your body after looking up who is Sisyphus.

Another reason why I thought it might be a toxic love song is that in the MV, he almost gets hit by a lamp, and later, he just sits and laughs beside the same woman. After watching the documentary where he mentioned he was the one who wrote the script for the MV, I realised. He was sad in the first part, and later, he was happy in the same setting. He finally accepted his life as it was and found happiness in hardships.

This army has written their interpretation of the song based on the documentary and lyrics. Do check it out.
