Should I move to Fedora?

Hello,

I don't often have a reddit account, so while I have it, I figured I'd crowdsource some wisdom. Feel free to opine, all opinions are welcome.

Ive been using Ubuntu as a daily driver since 10.10. Usually sticking on the LTS. I run a dual boot system with two separate drives - one for my computer, and one for the gaming console known as Windows.

(Proton just isn't there for me yet - tried it with Starfield and Veilguard, not there yet for me. Had drive issues, and getting mod organizer working with plugin sorting caused too much headache)

So, for me personally,

- I hate snaps, flatpacks, and all methods of software distribution outside of the package manager. I cannot stand the inconsistency, and do not care about the benefits. I cannot stand when programs don't work as expected because they're sandboxed. I cannot stand having to run multiple commands to update the system.

- I am very much a control freak. I have never learned the go programming language just because it had the audacity to put the "go" folder in my home directory.

- I use Ubuntu, Debian and derivatives as daily drivers and in servers at work. Their AD integration is the primary reason, but ultimately its also not my choice what OS the business uses.

So, I've stayed on Ubuntu for years, even as snaps encroached on everything. I persisted through the Unity UI disaster, and even tolerated them shoving adware into the search results.

But, I'm getting older, and I'm getting tired of it. I'm getting less and less tolerant of bullshit, and falling more and more into the category of "I just want it to work, and I want it to be sensible, and I really don't want it to touch my stuff."

I feel like I'm spending too much time fighting snaps, and too often something like NeoVim is only available as a snap, flat pack, or other such temporary garbage that fragments the community and puts developers before end users.

So I wanted some opinions - Should I move to Fedora? It's likely that if I do, I won't ever move back. I reinstall maybe once every LTS at this point, and generally use my computer rather than tinker with it.
