Nice XYZ Cup Konami

I was quite excited for the XYZ Cup initially since Battlin Boxers are a pet deck of mine and I thought maybe it would be a nice chance to stretch their legs.

I had a much, much higher win rate using them in regular ranked than this joke of an event.

Ended up switching over to Mikanko around Duel Level 12 and got to Level 20 in a matter of hours. I saw significantly more mirror matches and Lab players than any sort of XYZ based decks.

I know this horse has been beat to death but it really, really sucks that players were practically encouraged to use main deck strategies rather than the namesake summoning method thanks to a thoughtless banlist. I obviously dont blame any players, no point handicapping yourself, just seems like an incredibly dumb move that turned what could’ve been an interesting few days into a soulsucking slog. Would’ve been really cool to see some unique cards and strategies for a change.
