Is Router OS v7 gonna destroy me?
Hi everyone, I'm in the process of updating my homelab and have my eye on the RB5009UPr+S+IN which uses router os 7. I'm not a rookie, but also no pro when it comes to routers. Is ROS7 usable for someone with so-so network knowledge? I completed network training/mcse and all stuff in 2004 or something, but have only really used ipcop/opnsense for the most part, simpler stuff since then. I am toast, or ok ya think? I have nothing too major to setup, but would like to start integrating vlans etc. for a little security/segmentation etc.. thanks.
I should mention this router looks awesome with the poe ports and 2.5 wan port abilities. I plan on grabbing a 48 port switch to go with it, thanks.
EDIT: As /u/NameGenerator333 has mentioned, /u/TheNetworkBerg videos dude is awesome. I watched a few setup videos and I'm totally grabbing the RB5009 and the rackmount kit, that thing is a beast. I will point out this also makes the switch selection easier since I didn't realize all devices basically used the same software, and for vlans, the block diagrams are available for all the devices when it comes to switch chips etc. amazing stuff really. Thanks a lot for the advice everyone!
