Advice for a Neuroscience Degree Change
Hello all!
I am currently a first-year master's student at the University of Heidelberg, specializing in Molecular Plant Sciences after completing my Bachelor's degree in Molecular Biology and Genetics. Recently, I made the decision to transition my academic focus to Cognitive Neurosciences, driven by a newfound passion for the field.
This shift is really challenging me: as my background is in plant sciences, I lack experience in cognitive neuroscience.
Consequently, l've encountered difficulties in getting accepted into cognitive neuroscience programs, as they typically require relevant experience. This has led to a frustrating cycle where obtaining internships is near impossible due to my inexperience, and getting accepted from a program is really hard because I don't have enough experience.
I really want to make this change, despite its challenges. I am just feeling at a dead end and I don't know what to do. So would really appreciate any advice on how to make this shift from the experienced people on this field.
Thank you very much!
