Rural Punjab and visiting as an American

Aslam o alikum, I am an American who has friends living in the city of phalia near gujranwala in rural Punjab. I am going to visit soon and I’d love some advice on how to find my way and what to expect when I go. I’d also love to study there eventually in the future.
