Apartment Pest spray

We have a predicament. We’re first time bird owners and have had a cockatiel and a green cheek conure for about 7 years now. Well we’ve moved to a new apartment and it turns out there is a pest infestation. It’s not out of control as far as we can tell but we really want to nip it in the bud.

We are going to report it to the apartment but it’s highly likely that they will spray the apartment.

Does anyone have experience with this? Is there anything we need to know or can do. I love my birds and I’m petrified of something happening to them. We’ve talked about sealing up the room we keep them in but we don’t know how long our apartment would be a toxic environment.

I’m open to any and all suggestions.
