Gradient fill on a rectangular border

Is it possible to make a gradient fill that goes out linearly from all sides of a rectangular border? Something like the radial gradient but for a rectangle, I have tried to do it with 4 layers of each side of the rectangle with the standard one way linear fill but it didnt look good.
