Isn't it weird how diarrhea and fever are lethal symptoms?

I mean, i can perfectly understand that both of them can make you dehydrated but, damn, I think the devs went too far with the body increasing it's temperature. Just imagine being an 8 yr old attending an uncle's funeral or something because he had diarrhea. Very weird
