CPT VS EMT or both
I’m a first gen In California hoping to apply MD (interested in interventional radiology) when I graduate in 2027, but Im also applying to EAPs next year. I’m getting my phlebotomist cert this month and have a volunteer gig in the local emergency department (mostly just pushing wheelchairs and cleaning rooms). I’ve also been shadowing a radiologist for a few months (radiology is kind of lit, I really didn’t know what to expect) and I work as a research assistant in an addiction pharmacology lab.
Basically, should I also be an emt? EMT —> ED tech? Festival emt? Just stick with phlebotomy? CNA? Medical assistant? Sorry if Im coming off at totally clueless, I have zero doctors in my family/circle and the radiologist is awesome but suggested I ask somebody closer to my age about this. I’d love to work part time also because school and all these other activities can be a lot.
I would love to go to a good school, I’m not picky but true pass/fail is a plus.mostly I just want to have access to guidance and resources that will make me a good doctor. Also I haven’t taken the mcat yet, just a jack Westin practice exam and I got a 501 or 502 I forget. Got a 94% on cars tho
Sidenote: almost don’t reading ‘When breath becomes air’ by Paul kalanithi and it is amazing.
