Movies for Architects

I recently watched The Brutalist, and it was fucking stupid. Regardless, it is not a movie about architecture, or buildings at all and I found that frustrating considering how it was advertised.

Here is a list of movies that I believe truly understand the importance of buildings and space, and visually demonstrate architecture in beautiful ways.

Please tell me more architectural movies. The criteria is not a famous building being present in the movie, or the plot having something to do with an architect, but rather, movies that that depict architecture in a novel or interesting way.

Goodbye Dragon Inn, Tsai Ming Liang

The Conformist, Bernardo Bertolucci

Suspiria, Dario Argento

Nostalghia, Andrei Tarkovsky (Or anything at all by Tarkovsky)

An Autumn Afternoon, Yasujiro Ozu

Red Desert, Michelangelo Antonioni

Naked Childhood, Maurice Pialat

Walkabout, Nicholas Roeg

Koyaanisqatsi, Godfrey Reggio

Gattaca, Andrew Niccol

Blade Runner, Ridley Scott

Polytechnique, Denis Villeneuve

The Great Beauty, Paolo Sorrentino
