Asking me if girls smell on their periods

Okay so I(F21) am with a guy(M21) since the past two three months now. We have had sex once and we do like each other romantically. He randomly asked me if girls smell on their periods? Some kind of pungent smell i have no idea. I never paid attention to it. But.. do we smell? I dont think I smell.... But now its made me a bit conscious. Would like the perspectives/opinions of males on here...
