How much thinking do you do when skiing?

Hi,

I’ve been watching some videos online about how to improve my skiing. There’s lots of useful advice that I’m excited to implement when I go in January. I can imagine myself doing those things, but I feel like when I ski I barely think about it. They use so many words that I have no idea what they mean. Do I carve? Sure, but I don’t think about whether I’m carving or not and where my weight is placed in that particular moment. Sure I strategise my next turn in particular in more difficult conditions or if there are moguls. But otherwise it’s pretty intuitive and I don’t think about it.

I’ve been skiing since I was a kid and I had lessons for many years but now I realise I can’t even talk about it cause I’m missing vocabulary.

Does that mean I’m also missing technique? How much do you think about when you’re doing?
