Why do you think Milky Lane is declining?

A friend of mines and I were having a discussion about business and the type of brands we grew up with. We both ended up agreeing that Milky Lane was the most nostalgic brand for us both, and many South Africans, but we haven’t seen many around any more. Beyond that, we don’t really see ourselves drawn there despite wanting ice cream/waffles etc. is this just us? What does the rest of South Africa think?
