Do stray cats contribute to society?
Stray cat populations are often complained about, and they can certainly be annoying especially when they're in heat or fighting right outside your window.
But I was thinking today, I wonder if anyone has measured the impact stray, feral cats have on invasive vermin population like rodents.
This was brought on because I live in kinda a run down neighborhood on the edge of a town, lotta stray cats and my neighbor complains about them constantly, but right next to a rural forested area perfect for mice, and despite my house being poorly maintained and poorly sealed I've never had a rodent issue.
I don't feed the stray cats because I don't want my yard to become their hangout and in my city, feeding an animal is basically accepting legal ownership of it.
But I don't mind them, honestly they probably do more good than harm around here, at least to some extent. Was wondering if that was actually true?
