Please recommend some books I might like that are similar to those of Karin Slaughter

I've been listening to a lot of audio books lately while practicing my creative hobbies. I've previously listened to books by Gillian Flynn and liked them. More recently I came across Karin Slaughter and have already listened to all of her books and loved most of them.

I now started to listen to "the kind worth killing" by Peter Swanson, but am already noticing writing I'm less excited about (like the vaine and sexualised description of the female characters).

In terms of audio books the reader also makes a difference, so I'll just drop some names I like in case that could help with recommendations: Kathleen Early, Steven Fry, and Martin Freeman
