Finally watching the TV adaptation
TLDR- for those like me who refused to watch the series, just do it, and watch with an open mind. Thank me later.
I refused to watch the series, I just couldn't imagine them pulling it off - and with all the negativity from a lot of hardcore fans, I was easily influenced. But today I thought "F- it" I've just watched episode 3.
Here's my take so far: Bella Ramsay is a great Ellie. Pedro Pascal is a great Joel. Troy Baker is still Joel to me, but Pascal is definitely a good casting choice. Some cut out parts very excusable as most of those were just tutorial/game feature introductions. The recreation of the open Boston is stunning. Ron Swanson as Bill is bloody brilliant - but I was not prepared for this. I didn't expect a whole hour of stuff we didn't get to know very much in the game (even more detail than the notes) - I was left weeping. I'm not usually a crier, but that really hit me.
I'm only 3 episodes in, and even though I know what's going to happen in general, it still feels brand new. I'm looking forward to the rest of it.
I'm frustrated I didn't watch it sooner.
