What traditional dishes in your culture are accidentally vegan?

I was reading a story with a student about a World Culture Day at school. The main character was teased for bringing Biko (Filipino dessert) but of course in the end everyone loved it. I looked up the recipe and it looks/sounds amazing and is happily vegan.

I grew up in a pretty bland, Standard American Diet household with no culture or traditional foods (except maybe HP sauce on everything). I've travelled a lot since, but mostly before I went vegan so I didn't particularly take note of what I was eating.

So now I'm curious, what dishes in your culture are vegan by default?
