The importance of a dust cover

Why are cats obsessed with sitting on top of a turntable?? Once he's up there he's not smart enough to get down easily by himself either. I'm just hoping he doesn't jump on it while I'm playing records!

I just upgraded to this LP-120x and loving it so far, love using a manual turntable and the sound quality is brilliant. Will probably invest in better speakers before doing any further upgrades. Love playing my 80s 12" singles (bottom left shelf) on this thing, they sound incredible.
