Quick Review and First Impressions of the New Gear.
It could be I haven't figured out secret sauce yet and reserve the right to change my mind :)
Ravager - The bot itself is not OP, but I do think it is very good. Ability wise, there is nothing crazy in its kit that makes it stand out. It feels like a closer range crisis. Additionally, there are already a lot of counters wondering around, especially since a number of players are running anti-stealth measures to deal with Dux. That being said 5 medium hard points is STRONG, and having the ability to move with stealth across the map allows it to shut down corridors. I think it's best played in medium to long ranges (I haven't been able to make a successful brawler out of it). I suspect, and have not yet tested, that it will be good with weapons like hazard, webers, hussar. If you're willing to go even more off meta, Ravager might breathe new life into some other weapons like Skadi, scourge, fainter, or Razador. All remains to be seen. Like I said, the bot itself doesn't seem OP but.............
Regulators - are OP. The feel like on-release Reapers. Not too may regular bots can withstand a magazine of these coming from ravager. I imagine it will be a nice bump in the meta for bots with 4 hard points as well (Typhon is on my short list to test). They have an 800m range and seemingly zero spread, i.e. 100% accuracy. The discharge their magazine in mere moments. The 8s reload prevents them from being a consistent brawling weapon but being able to shut down corridors and beacons from 800m away, it may not need to.
Moderator a.k.a DNR - The drone may actually be usable for bots other than Ravager. It remains to be seen how good it is in the long run, but I think the abilities are a nice compliment to stealth bots. I see Lynx, nightingale, crisis, Orochi, and maybe a few others getting a nice bonus from this. Personally, I think it's good (pending more testing).
Devourer- What you need to know is that Mauler is still king (IMO). So, all judgement of other titans boils down to whether or not it can manage Mauler. Short answer is yes, Devourer can manage mauler. It is not a brain-dead titan to run and requires strict attention to its ability up and down times. Once you figure that out, Devourer is good (top 5, just haven't decided where), and more importantly fun (but not as fun as a UE Minos). The Essence shift ability, along with the Liam Crag pilot, is essentially a titan version of the leech ability. Use that while you are not in stealth, and then immediately enter stealth when it's over. If you can manage that, it can maintain close range battles. Mis-managed, you will die quickly. Manage that well, and you will live a long time
Arbiter/Equalizer - are very good. DO NOT let them overheat, that will get you killed. However they dish out a lot of damage very quickly. I still think Anguisher and Ruiner are better. The 600m range is nice and allows the control of large areas of maps. They seem to be significantly weaker against brawler titans, and struggle a bit against charged TRA. So a number of titans can withstand these to an extent.
