Hipsterism never “went away.” It just became mainstream.
Every so often people on here are like "remember Hipsters? What happened to going to local artisal breweries and wearing selvedge denim?"
And I wonder if people realize the reason they buy $10 oat milk lattes at Devocion, spend $500 for a shirt that makes them look intentionally homeless, go thrifting, and buy small farm sheep's milk yogurt from Whole Foods is because what was once a transgressive act in the 2000s and early 2010s has just become mainstream and people don't realize it.
