Good Reason/Way to Use Multiple Parties?

I'm still making my way through the Beginning Abyss, and I like my party a lot. But I like making use of multiple parties and switching things up as well.

Is there a good reason to switch up parties? Like different alignments being useful in different dungeons, different elements being useful, etc

And how do you go about preparing that second party in an efficient way?
