Metropolitan Grill keeps the 20% service charge. The servers get 10% commission. So if you spend $1000 on food you get charged $1200 plus tax, the server gets $100 (or $120 not sure) and the MG gets $200. How do you all feel about this?

I planted sunflowers against the house on the south side and they get full sun. They don't look happy. Is there a thing such as too much sun for sun flowers? I want to make this work. How can I fix this? 9A

We love British crime dramas that go into quite a bit of detail and character building and solve the case may be after 1.5 hours or even over several episodes. Vera is a great example. Any similar shows in the US? We have already watched Reacher

Do any of you remember (or heard from your older family members) about Prince Edward VIII and Mrs. Wallis Simpson? It seems like the world largely just forgot about them. Had the prince (later the king) not abdicated the course of history might be different

Contact lenses stolen from front door - UPS delivery but they won't let me file a claim because it's SurePost (?) delivery and the claim should be through USPS. Any experience with successful claims through USPS? These were delivered without signature requirement. Thank you so much for guidance.
This is an unofficial community where people can discuss and ask questions regarding UPS related topics. This is not a complaint department nor a substitute for customer support. Any issues or concerns should be dealt with through official UPS Customer Service.
Any well written mountaineering memoirs written in the last 5 years that you recommend? I have read the oft recommended classics but they are all several years old. Thank you.
First timer question - How important is it to break into the mountaineering boots before the attempt? This might be my only time using them so I'm seriously thinking about renting them but not sure if being able to practice in them is a must. I don't intend to do (any) more mountaineering after this
Been a customer for 16 years. Suddenly since the last 6 months my account thinks I'm a business account and I'm no longer able to view the bill. Has anyone seen this issue? I call the help desk every month and they are utterly useless. They say it will be resolved "with 24 hours" and it never is.

What happened to Mark Pfetzer, the 16yo climber that was present during the Everest 1996? The last mountaineering mention in his book is Cho Oyu. Just finished reading his book. There's no web presence or wiki presence since.

I'm training for Mt. Baker in July. Other than the fact that Baker is technical, can anyone please compare Baker with other challenging hikes in the PNW? I have done Camp Muir, MBP, Mt. Si, Mt. St. Helens, etc., in the past. This will be my first technical climb and I'm going with a guide. Thanks.

Do you re-do your built items or do you take your time to build it the right way the first time? I want to build a few custom built-ins but I don't have the talents or tools at the moment. But I need a storage solution right now.

I think as a beginner I tend to over engineer my projects. I tend to use 2x4s when 1x4s are probably enough and use 4x4s when 2x4s are enough and so on. Just made a work bench that could hold a car.

Having a really hard time driving pocket hole screws into the pocket holes. They go fine with manual driver. But I have 32 to do and I prefer not to drive them manually.
